Larger fancy-cut diamonds are currently in high demand, according to Rapaport’s weekly market comment[2]. The company reports high-quality oval-, pear-, and emerald-cut stones weighing six to 10 carats are drawing consistent interest.

Carat weight aside, ovals of all sizes are popular, with other hot shapes including emerald-, pear-, and cushion-cut diamonds. Overall, Rapaport says curved fancies are performing better than their square-shaped counterparts (such as marquise- and princess-cut diamonds).

For more on which styles and shapes are doing well in the current market, keep an eye out for our JCK Las Vegas wrap-up[3] in the May 2018[4] issue of Jewellery Business.
