An Omega Automatic Seamaster Professional ‘Planet Ocean’ wristwatch worn by Daniel Craig in Skyfall sold at auction for just over $250,000, worlds away from its estimate of $9000 to $10,000.
Specially made in titanium to handle the movie’s action scenes, the 42-mm watch features a black dial with Arabic quarters, luminous tapered baton and dot hour markers, and luminous hands.
The timepiece—which went to an anonymous telephone bidder—was part of Christie’s ’50 Years of James Bond: The Auction.’
All proceeds from the sale of the watch were donated to Orbis Foundation, a global non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and treating blindness by providing quality eye care to transform lives.
