It was an exciting Friday night in New York with the Jewelers of America’s 15th annual GEM Awards held on Jan. 13, 2017 at Cipriani 42nd Street.
This year’s audience of 500 was treated to jewellery designer, Stephen Webster, host the show with many celebrity guests ranging from actors, musicians, and models, to reality television stars in attendance.
Winners included Lucia Silvestri, jewellery creative director of BLVGARI (Jewelry Design); Kay Jewelers (Marketing & Communications); Grace Fuller, jewelry editor of W magazine (Media Excellence).
Jim Rosenheim, chairman of Tiny Jewel Box in Washington, D.C., received the 2017 Lifetime Achievement award for his contributions to the watch and jewellery industry. “There are few other people in the world like Jim . . . Jim Shines. His integrity, generosity, and penchant for treating artists and vendors like a loving family. I am proud to be part of his family,” says Jeff Feero, owner of Alex Sepkus and presenter of the award.
