The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) and the Quebec Jewellers Corporation (CBQ) have announced a new strategic partnership aimed at enhancing support for the jewellery industry in Quebec. The alliance is expected to expand educational opportunities, provide new member benefits, and increase regional engagement.

As part of the agreement, the CJA will take on a larger role in Quebec, offering services and resources while recognizing the province’s distinct business environment. The association plans to provide bilingual support, including a French-speaking staff member and bilingual communications, to better serve industry professionals in the region.

The CJA will also take over the organization of Expo Prestige 2025, a long-standing industry trade show previously overseen by CBQ. The event, scheduled to run from August 24 to 26, 2025, at the Port of Montreal – Grand Quay, is expected to draw vendors and retailers from across the country.

“The CJA will provide numerous advantages and benefits to the Quebec Jewellery community, with one of the key initiatives being a completely bilingual association. We extend a warm welcome to all Quebec retail and supply businesses, recognizing that we are stronger together,” says  Angela Betteridge, chair of the CJA.

According to the CJA, its previous experience managing shows such as Jewellery World Expo and its partnership with Reed Exhibitions in Toronto will help ensure a smooth transition and successful event.

CBQ has represented Quebec jewellers for over 68 years and has played a key role in developing Expo Prestige, which has operated for more than five decades. The CJA, founded in 1918, continues to act as the national voice for the Canadian jewellery industry, with a focus on advocacy, education, and industry standards.
