Crime Report—November 3, 2025

Incident 1: A jewellery store at Pickering Town Centre was robbed on Tuesday, October 21. Around 1 p.m., four male suspects entered Peoples Jewellers at the enclosed retail mall, where they smashed several showcases, removing jewellery stock. The masked men fled the location in a grey, Honda CRV driven by a fifth suspect. Durham Regional Police Service is investigating.
Incident 2: A gold-buying business at Bayfield Mall in Barrie, Ont., was the target of a burglary. An unknown person or persons broke into the business at around 3:14 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, removing the safe, the cash box and other property. The value of the loss is unknown; Barrie Police are investigating.
Incident 3: Around 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, several individuals wearing hoodies and masks entered a retail jewellery store at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga, Ont. They shattered showcases with hammers, taking an unknown amount of jewellery. The robbery at Peoples Jewellers was caught on camera. Peel Regional Police is investigating, with the Central Robbery Bureau leading the investigation.
Incident 4: On Wednesday, October 15, at approximately 5:30 p.m., five masked suspects entered a retail jewellery store at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, Ont. The suspects, armed with hammers, smashed display cases and filled duffel bags with jewellery worth nearly $100,000 before fleeing in a white Mercedes SUV. York Regional Police arrested four of the five suspects.
