WJA Toronto celebrates a ‘Shining Star’ in its community

Ari Fudim of York International Gems Ltd. has received the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) Toronto Chapter’s Shining Star Award, recognizing his contributions to the chapter and the jewellery industry.
Fudim, vice-president of the Toronto-based diamond importer and wholesaler, received the award on October 1 during Jewelry After Hours—Toronto Edition, an event hosted by Quantum Lead in collaboration with WJA Toronto. The gathering also marked the chapter’s third anniversary.
As WJA Toronto’s programming vice-president, Fudim helps organize events and experiences for members. He also serves as president of the GIA Alumni Association of Ontario and is a member of Young Diamantaires.
Presenting the award, WJA Toronto community chair Alanna Campbell highlighted Fudim’s ongoing support for the organization and its members. “Ari has been a Shining Star from the very beginning,” Campbell said. “Ari dedicates countless hours to supporting the community. He continuously goes above and beyond and is always ready to help a friend or colleague in need of support. Ari’s commitment to supporting WJA’s mission of supporting and advancing women in the jewellery industry is a testament to his dedication to the industry and the value of coming together as a community.”
The Shining Star Award is presented by WJA chapters across North America to recognize members who demonstrate commitment to their local chapters.
The event also featured a presentation by Gen Duchesne, business development manager at Quantum Lead, on Noble, the company’s recently launched app that integrates repairs, custom orders, inventory, and client communications into Shopify.
Founded in 2023, WJA Toronto is the first and only Canadian chapter of the WJA, which supports and advances women working across the jewellery and watch industries through networking, mentorship, and education.
