The Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA) announced the 2025 awards winners on Monday, October 27, during the CJA awards dinner held at the historic Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto.

Award finalists from across Canada were honoured in the presence of their staff, loved ones and industry colleagues at the dinner, sponsored by De Beers Group.

The achievements of the five individuals and businesses were celebrated after deliberation by a panel of 11 Judges. The 2025 CJA Awards were presented to the following winners:

  • Independent Retailer of the Year Award | J. H. Young & Sons, Brantford, ON
  • Multi-Store Retailer of the Year Award | Appelt’s Diamonds, Winnipeg, MB
  • Supplier of the Year Award | MDL Diamond Merchants, Toronto, ON
  • Emerging Business of the Year Award | Northern Watch Services Inc., North York, ON
  • Erol Paylan Impact Award | Sarah Dougall, Made You Look Jewellery, Toronto, ON
  • “It has been my life’s work to develop and refine this platform, which endeavours to allow our community of exceptional talent to follow their dreams, find their niche, and be recognized for their unique perspectives in this ancient medium,” shared Sarah Dougall in her acceptance speech.

The awards dinner culminated a full day of learning and networking, which saw over 250 industry professionals from across Canada attend the third annual CJA Industry Summit in partnership with Jewelers Mutual.

The summit opened with the annual general meeting, led by outgoing CJA chair, Angela Betteridge, where the 2026 board of directors and new co-chairs Chau Lui and Eric Senftleben were voted in by CJA members.

The summit continued with Canadian-centric content presented by 12 industry experts, including Eric Jodouin and Chantal Arbique of the Royal Canadian Mint, who gave the audience a sneak peek at new pieces from the 2025 Oppulence Collection.

“Jewellery has been a part of human history since the beginning of time; its story is ever evolving, and so is ours,” Dougall said. “I am looking forward to the next 25 years on this one-of-a-kind path that we have chosen.”
