Canadian tennis stars embrace new role with Mejuri Play

Canadian tennis players Victoria Mboko and Eugenie Bouchard have started the year as ambassadors for Mejuri Play, a platform from the jewellery brand that blends fashion, sports and self-expression.
Mboko, a rising star who made headlines by climbing from 333 to the Top 20 in world rankings last year, shared her excitement about joining Mejuri.
“Mejuri is a Canadian, women-owned brand, which was important to me,” Mboko told ELLE Canada. “I love that Mejuri is all about everyday jewellery you can actually live and move in, which really aligns with my lifestyle as an athlete.”
Eugenie Bouchard, a long-time tennis favourite and the first Canadian to reach a Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, also aligns well with Mejuri’s mission.
Although she has transitioned to professional pickleball after retiring from tennis, her passion for accessorizing remains strong.
“Wearing jewellery is such a fun way to show personality when I play,” Bouchard explained.
Mejuri Play aims to empower women athletes who are still underrepresented in sports, highlighting that it’s about more than just performance.
As Jacob Jordan, Mejuri’s chief brand officer, puts it, “It’s about self-expression and bringing your own style to how you compete, live, and play.”
To celebrate this new initiative, Mejuri has launched its first Mejuri Play products, including the Mejuri Play Drop Shot Earring and Tennis Double Hoops, designed for movement and flair.
As brand ambassadors, Mboko and Bouchard will showcase these new styles, reflecting their unique personal aesthetics and commitment to empowering women in sports.
