Coloured stones remain popular at 2017 GemFair Tucson

GemFair exhibit hall

More than 5000 buyers fled to Tucson for the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) GemFair this year to see what one of the industry’s most popular shows had to offer and it appears the trend favouring coloured gemstones isn’t going anywhere.

“Colour is absolutely here to stay,” says Victor Velyan of Victor Christy Studios. “The importance of colour has made an impact on retail jewellers and industry buyers, and the confidence in buying from an AGTA member is a significant part of their purchasing decision,” says AGTA CEO, Douglas K. Hucker.

Buyers from all over the world came to Tucson to view the exhibitors, participate in exclusive buyer and networking events, educational seminars, workshops, and attend the AGTA-hosted Jewelry Industry Summit.
