Hazmat-clad intruders strike Oakville jewellery store in three-minute heist

In this edition of Crime Report, a string of jewellery store break-ins has hit the GTA, with incidents reported in Oakville, Bolton, and Woodbridge, all under police investigation.

Masked intruders disable security in Oakville jewellery heist 

Early Sunday, November 21, a jewellery store in Oakville was the target of a break-in now under investigation by Halton Hills Police.

Around 1:00 a.m., four suspects in hazmat-style suits forced entry by prying open the front door with a crowbar or similar tool. Once inside, the suspects disabled the store’s security systems, cutting power and communication lines connected to cameras and alarms.

The group attempted to move the store’s safe, managing to shift it a few metres but failing to remove it from the premises. They did, however, take a small amount of jewellery left outside the safe before fleeing.

The entire incident lasted less than three minutes. Police are actively investigating and urge anyone with information to come forward.

Hammer-wielding suspects fail in daylight robbery attempt at Oakville jewellery store

Around 4:20 p.m. on November 26, an attempted armed robbery at JY Jewellery in Oakville sparked a police investigation.

Three suspects armed with hammers tried to smash the front door glass to gain entry into the store on Cross Avenue. Their attempt failed, and they fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV.

No injuries were reported during the incident. The suspects were described as wearing black clothing.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Smash-and-grab burglary in Bolton jewellery store lasts barely a minute

Peel Regional Police are investigating a quick burglary at a retail jewellery store in Bolton during the early hours of Thursday, November 27.

An unknown number of suspects forced the front door lock, entered the store, and smashed showcases to grab a small amount of jewellery left outside the safe. No attempt was made to break open or remove the safes.

The entire incident lasted about one minute before the suspects fled. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Alarm foils midnight break-in at York Region jewellery store

York Regional Police are investigating a burglary that occurred shortly after midnight on Monday, December 1, at a jewellery store located in a retail plaza.

According to reports, four suspects forced open the store’s door and entered the premises. The alarm system activated immediately, prompting the intruders to flee moments later.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
