Gem Diamonds Ltd. has unearthed a 198-carat type IIa diamond from its Letšeng mine in Lesotho.
The white diamond displays no florescence and is expected to achieve an exceptional price when sold this year.
“The recovery of this large, high-quality white diamond continues to support the LetÅ¡eng mine’s reputation as the most important source of exceptional quality, large diamonds,” said Gem Diamonds chief executive officer (CEO), Clifford Elphick.
