Police are appealing for witnesses after a jewellery store at Stone Road Mall was robbed by a group of hammer-wielding suspects on Tuesday, February 17, just before 4 p.m.
Guelph Police Service reports that officers responded to a robbery in progress inside the mall. Investigators state that five suspects arrived at the scene, with one staying in a vehicle while four entered the store and shattered display cases with hammers.
The group fled with an undisclosed amount of jewellery and was last seen heading southbound on Edinburgh Road South, in a white four-door Honda Civic, license plate DFEX781.
Police arrest three suspects after attempted robbery at Kleinburg watch store
Three suspects were arrested Thursday, February 19, in Kleinburg, Ont., after an attempted robbery at a retail watch dealer in the mid‑afternoon, authorities say.
The suspects had been seen loitering outside the store earlier that day. Police say an officer was inside the business at the time, following up on the sighting, when the robbery attempt unfolded.
The suspects abandoned the effort, and all three were taken into custody following a police search.

Masked group steals safe in swift burglary at Calgary jewellery store
Four masked burglars made off with a safe after breaking into a jewellery store in the Willow Park area on Thursday, February 19, around 7:40 p.m.
The suspects smashed windows to enter the retail business and targeted a safe, dragging it through the store and loading it into a pickup truck in less than five minutes before leaving the scene.
An alarm was triggered, and police arrived shortly afterward.
Masked trio uses hammers in smash‑and‑grab at Centerpoint Mall jewellery store
Three masked suspects dressed in black carried out a smash-and-grab at a retail jewellery store in Centerpoint Mall on Sunday, February 15, around 3:30 p.m., authorities say.
The incident occurred at the enclosed mall near Steeles Avenue West and Yonge Street, Toronto. Investigators say the suspects entered the store, used hammers to break open showcases, and took merchandise before fleeing the mall shortly afterward.
No additional information has been released.
Jewellery store in Markham robbed
On the night of Friday, February 13, a jewellery store near Denison Street and Woodbine Avenue in Markham, Ont., was broken into. Intruders reportedly removed a safe, presumably to be opened later elsewhere. Details about the incident remain limited as the investigation continues.
