On the afternoon of July 28, 2025, a coordinated jewellery store robbery unfolded at Cornwall Square in Cornwall, ON, just after 2:00 p.m. Six individuals, all reportedly from Ottawa, targeted the retail location in a brazen, daytime heist that triggered an immediate police response.

According to authorities, the suspects entered the mall wearing face coverings and hooded clothing to conceal their identities. Armed with hammers, they smashed display cases, stuffing substantial amounts of jewellery into garbage bags before fleeing the scene.

Unbeknownst to the suspects, officers from the Ottawa Police Service were already nearby, conducting surveillance as part of an unrelated robbery investigation. As the suspects attempted to flee in a waiting vehicle, they were intercepted and arrested without incident. Members of the Cornwall Police Service provided support during the arrests and are working alongside Ottawa police as the joint investigation continues.

All six individuals, including five youths and one adult male, now face a series of serious charges. These include robbery with theft, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, disguise with intent, mischief, and possession of break-in tools. Multiple suspects are also charged with possessing stolen property exceeding $5,000, and some face additional counts for breaching previous release conditions or undertakings.

The suspects remain in custody and are being held in Cornwall pending bail hearings. Police say the investigation remains active as they assess connections to other recent incidents.

Authorities are urging anyone with further information or relevant footage of the event to contact investigators.
