A Canadian jewellery brand has teamed up with a Ukrainian newcomer to launch a collection that celebrates belonging and the Canadian experience.

Jewels4Ever announced the release of Rooted by Yana, a line of pendants, earrings and bracelets designed in collaboration with Yana Vdodovych, who arrived in Canada three years ago after leaving Ukraine.

The collection, available starting Dec. 11, features a pendant with a detailed silhouette of the Canadian map, offered in 24-karat gold plating and rhodium-plated sterling silver. The design draws on themes of home, healing and resilience, inspired by Vdodovych’s migration story.

“It was a very quick decision, but the rightest decision I could have ever made,” Vdodovych said of her arrival in Toronto on Dec. 6, 2022. “Home is not a place — it is a moment when your heart feels healed.”

Jewels4Ever CEO Anita Agrawal said she supported the project from the outset, calling the design a reflection of Canada’s multicultural identity.

“Canada is home to people from all around the world, and this pendant beautifully represents that spirit,” Agrawal said.

The pieces will be sold online at Jewels4Ever.ca and Rooted. The brand states the collection is meant as a meaningful gift for newcomers, international students, and anyone who values Canada’s diversity.
