Christie’s names its new global head of watches

Christie’s has appointed Remi Guillemin as global head of watches, based in Geneva, giving him oversight of the company’s auction and private sales business worldwide. Guillemin, who has spent more than a decade at Christie’s, previously served as head of watches for the Americas and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
“There is no better choice for this important role than Remi Guillemin, whose expertise, focus on smart curation, and client relationships have already grown our market and led to landmark success,” says Kimberly Miller, Christie’s global managing director of luxury.
Under Guillemin, Christie’s U.S. Watches division set a company record for its most expensive timepiece sold in New York, a Richard Mille RM 56-02 that brought more than $3 million. He also led the 2022 sale of “Legendary and Unique Watches,” which sold 111 watches.
Christie’s also announced several other appointments within its global watch team, including promotions for Alexandre Bigler, Harmmond Wong, and Cissy Ngan.
The moves come as Christie’s watch business posts strong results, with worldwide sales up 39 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2026, including a US$42.2 million Geneva auction in May, the highest total for a various-owner watch sale in the company’s history.
