De Beers London has launched a capsule jewellery collection featuring diamonds sourced through GemFair, De Beers Group’s program supporting artisanal and small-scale miners with fair purchasing, training, and a traceable route to market.

The 12-piece collection pairs rough and polished GemFair stones in designs such as “Toi & Moi” rings and the “Modern Lines” set. De Beers says the pieces reflect both a diamond’s origin and the craftsmanship involved in its transformation.

GemFair, created to formalize artisanal mining practices and support livelihoods, uses digital tools and third‑party assurance to track eligible diamonds from mine site to market.

It operates in Sierra Leone’s Kono region and now works with more than 500 participating sites, supporting about 7,000 direct livelihoods. Since its launch in 2018, the program has purchased over 20,000 diamonds and conducted more than 5,700 compliance visits.

The program also reclaims former mine pits for agricultural use. Nearly 160 sites have been converted since 2020, and communities have received more than 1,000 kilograms of crop seedlings.

De Beers London CEO Emmanuelle Nodale said the collection offers a connection to the miners’ stories.

“These pieces carry not only the beauty of the diamond itself, but also the human stories behind it — stories of pride, opportunity, and meaningful impact for artisanal mining communities,” he said.

GemFair is now a registered supplier to De Beers London for future collections.
