An 18-karat gold ring adorned with 12,638 VVS-clarity diamonds has nabbed the Guinness World Record for most diamonds set in in one ring.
Dubbed the Marigold, and also known as ‘The Ring of Prosperity,’ the piece was created by Harshit Bansal, founder of Renani Jewels in Meerut, India. The ring, which weighs more than 165 grams, features a circular band with an ornate floral design, complete with thousands of conflict-free diamonds, Guinness reports.
Bansal was first inspired to break the record in 2018 while studying jewellery design in Surat, India, according to Guinness.
“My target was always more than 10,000 diamonds,” he says. “I trashed many designs and concepts over the years to finally zero in on this.”

The previous record for most diamonds set in one ring was achieved last year by Kotti Srikanth, the owner of The Diamond Store by Chandubhai in Hyderabad, India. Srikanth’s creation, named ‘The Divine – 7801 Brahma Vajra Kamalam,’ features 7801 diamonds.
